

Dr. Dre’s album The Chronic completes its 30 years. And to honor the seminal album that left its own mark on society, Interscope Records has decided to drop exclusive limited edition collectibles for fans throughout the year. The collectibles include replica session tapes of the legendary albums and oversized session tape replicas as well.

To celebrate the legendary rapper’s work, the record company has also collaborated with skateboarding legend Tony Hawk to produce skateboards inspired by The Chronic album. Weeks after announcing his contribution to Bruce Lee’s upcoming book Hawk shared a video of him riding one of these exclusive skateboards.

Tony Hawk celebrates Dr. Dre’s album anniversary
Birdman has collaborated with Dr. Dre’s record company, Interscope, to produce four exclusive collectible skateboards with artwork inspired by The Chronic master tapes. Recently, Tony shared a video of himself skating on one of the exclusive boards from the collection with the caption, “Let Me Ride! Congratulations to Dr. Dre on 30 years of chronic illness.” In the video, the skater was seen picking his favorite skateboard from the exclusive collection and going to the arena with his son Keegan. Stoked Hawk showed some staunch moves including a flatground kickflip on the board.

Interstellar Records also posted the video on their Instagram while sharing the journey of making these skateboards. The company revealed that they visited the skater on a random Tuesday in June at his son’s house, where Hawk talked about the impact of Dr. Dre’s work on him while growing up in Southern California.

The skater has also shared stories about meeting rap legend Tupac and making a video with Snoop Dogg. And on that random Tuesday, Tony Hawk decided to collaborate with the company to pay homage to Dr. Dre’s seminal album. However, this is not the first time Birdman has contributed to celebrating a top-tier figure’s achievements. A few weeks ago, the athlete announced that he would be contributing to martial arts legend Bruce Lee’s upcoming book celebrating his fifth death anniversary.

Tony Hawk is contributing to Bruce Lee’s book.
To celebrate martial arts legend Bruce Lee’s career, on his 50th death anniversary, an upcoming book, In My Own Process, will be released. And besides Lee’s family, Tony Hawk has also contributed to the book. Tony, in collaboration with the book’s publication company, revealed on Instagram that the book will be hand signed by the skater. Further, the birdman has contributed more towards this limited edition book, which will be revealed in the upcoming months.
In essence, Hawk is truly a man who not only inspires people by waking up after getting down but also by respecting other legendary figures by paying homage to their art and work.
