

During Season 2 Episode 1 of My Houzz on Houzz TV, Tony Hawk talked about his friend Ray Underhill. Underhill died of cancer at the age of 45, which was very depressing for his family and Hawk. Underhill was Hawk’s best friend since childhood, and they both skated together in the 80s and 90s. They both shared the same ideals and even the same sense of humor. It was 1989 when they met Kerry during their Bones Brigade Skate Tour. Tony Hawk witnessed love, at first sight, that time only.

Tony Hawk is a legendary skateboarder from Carlsbad, California. He is the owner of Birdhouse, which is a skateboard company. Hawk has his own video game franchise, which is published by Activision and is based on skateboarding.

The day when things went down for Tony Hawk
Tony Hawk and Ray Underhill were skateboard buddies, and they shared a lot of things in common. After dating for several years, Underhill and Kerry married each other. Everything was very smooth in both Hawk’s and Underhill’s life until a storm appeared.

“We were both starting the next chapter in our lives, It was devastating,” Hawk said in a numbed voice. Underhill went through every treatment he possibly could but ended up losing the battle with brain cancer in 2008. After the death of Underhill, Hawk took responsibility for Kerry and her kids.

Tony Hawk didn’t only lose his skateboarding buddy but also his best friend. Hawk acted like a godfather to Underhill’s family and vowed to help them with any sort of problem. The house where Kerry Overman lived with her new husband, Brad Overman, looked very old.

“He’s Uncle Tony and he’s been there from day one,” Kerry Overman said and continued, “He’s been a blessing in my life.” In 2018, Hawk wanted to remodel their whole house so that they can have something fresh and he did it.
