Street sports draw their attraction and appeal based on how edgy they are. However, this proves to be too costly at times. A young boy from Boise, Idaho, recently met with a disastrous accident while skateboarding. The accident occurred early hours when the boy was hit by a truck. The police have already started to investigate the matter.

Skateboarding on main roads used by vehicles for commuting is highly dangerous. Several skateboarders claim their skateboard as their vehicle or their ‘set of wheels.’ However, there are some significant differences between a skateboard and a proper vehicle. A vehicle usually offers several safety options, whereas a skateboard doesn’t even have an absolute braking and steering mechanism. This makes riding them on roads highly dangerous.

Boy dies in a skateboarding accident

Officers from the Boise Police Station responded to a 911 emergency call in the morning hours of 3rd August 2023. The caller reported a crash around 10:10 hours. The police rushed to the crash site to discover that the young boy had met with a tragic accident. The dispatch unit determined that the boy had died as a result of the collision. 

The accident occurred at North 16th and Washington Streets. This brutal accident has sent a chilling shockwave in the skateboarding community. Such incidents mentally knock the wind out of a person. This also grounds them down and even makes their lives flash before their lives when they think how easily they can lose it. The police are still trying to figure out the identity of the boy and are working hard for it.

Police briefly sealed the site of the accident to prevent all unauthorized access. The officers are also enquiring about the schools of Boise about the boy to find out his identity. They have not received any leads so far. The unfortunate accident is making young teens reconsider their dangerous and irresponsible skating behaviors.
