There are athletes who come, perform, and leave the game. Then there’s Tony Hawk, who loves skateboarding so much that he might just go on with it for the rest of his life. His dedication to skateboarding is beyond any injury or setback. It’s like he was born to do this and perhaps will continue doing so till his last breath.

The American skateboarding legend suffered a serious femur injury on the eve of his documentary’s trailer release. His Orthopedic surgeon, David Abbasi has described his injury asvery very serious” and it might take some time to heal.

Tony Hawk has a recovery goal in mind

While doctors have suggested absolute rest, he is quite eager to get back on his feet as soon as possible. The skateboarding legend tweeted a video of him trying to walk around the room with his injured leg. Clearly, he has some goal in mind as he wrote, “Day nine. My goal is to be skating at our Weekend Jam in Vegas on May 12; it will be the best birthday present ever.”

Although given his age, the injury might take longer than usual to recover, but Tony seems adamant about reaching his goal. He is a fighter indeed and has recovered from worse. It will be great if he can pull this as well.

Special screening for raising money for Ukraine
