“Honestly, no, because I think she got some almost ailment that suddenly she couldn’t figure out where she was in the air. I’m spinning and doing something that I’ve never even considered and I’ve never tried to push that far. So to spin two and a half times in the air was something completely foreign to me. It wasn’t like I was trying and trying, and then suddenly I was like, ‘I don’t know where I am.’ It was very much like, as soon as I took off on the wall, I didn’t know where I was from the get-go,” Hawk said.

First, the legend was very astonishing. He wasn’t able to process how even Biles just went up in the air and didn’t realize. Hawk never would have even tried to push his limits that far. But also, when he did try to do it, it was a different thing for him. He tried a lot of times. Even though he tried to always land on his back, his brain and body weren’t able to process the spin because it was so tough.

Tony Hawk’s infamous ‘900’
After many attempts, Tony Hawk nailed the first-ever 900 in competition in Skateboard Vert Best Trick at X Games 5 in San Francisco. It was the year 2011, and the legend was about 43 years. In his 40s, the legend was able to succeed in doing the hardest trick in skateboarding.

It wasn’t his first or last 900. The legend still kept on practicing for more. Even at an age when most athletes take a permanent break from their beloved sports, Tony Hawk was different. The more he fell, the more he got closer to achieving the impossible.
