“Low Impact Recovery”- US Legend Lindsey Vonn Tries Out Natural Ways to Recover From Recent Surgery

Injury is an inevitable part of an athlete’s lifestyle. Though for Lindsey Vonn, injuries are accompanying her in post-retirement life as well. The American skiing legend recently went through knee surgery after over three years of her retirement from international events. It seems her knee was troubling her a lot lately, and the surgery was the only solution to it.

The Olympic gold medalist has a pretty busy schedule even after saying goodbye to skiing. She is often seen in events, sometimes as an expert, while sometimes as a commentator. Apart from that, Lindsey is also a successful businesswoman and a social activist. Her NGO Lindsey Vonn Foundation has saved thousands of lives and is constantly working towards the welfare of society.

While her surgery was quite alright, the tough part of recovery starts now. However, in her recent Instagram pictures, Lindsey is seen riding a horse on a hill.

Looks like finally her knee is in better shape and she has recovered substantially.

Along with the picture, she wrote, “Some low impact recovery time. Felt so good. Nothing like being out in nature and off the grid.” Well, Lindsey is not someone who could stay inactive for long. Hence, for quick recovery, she has chosen nature instead of bed rest.

A temporary fix

While sports are usually rewarding, sometimes the cost of all the accomplishments is very high. In the light of her recent injury, Lindsey Vonn revealed, “this is my last step before getting a knee replacement… hoping this will hold me over for a year or two until I get the big surgery. Ahhh the price we pay to do what we love. Still worth it though.”

The four-time world champion often goes skiing as a recreational activity. However, it appears that she is not as fit as she was during her professional phase. Though she is very hardworking when it comes to health and staying fit.
