While Beijing Winter Olympic was all about disappointments and setbacks, FIS Ski World Cup was somewhat of a mixed experience for the American skier. She had a couple of amazing races, but like always, she struggled with the consistency in the world cups as well.

Nevertheless, she has already won her fourth world cup title with two spectacular performances in the first two races. With the overall crystal globe victory, she has now joined the league of fellow American skier Lindsey Vonn. Although the tournament didn’t end as she would have expected, it was something she would cherish for the rest of her life.

Mikaela Shiffrin couldn’t win her 13th Alpine skiing crystal globe

While she had already won the overall title, there was still a crystal globe at the table. However, even after leading the race in the first run, Mikaela couldn’t turn it in her favor. In the overall giant slalom standings, Tessa Worley of France is at the top with 567 points, followed by Sara Hector on second and Mikaela Shiffrin on the third place, respectively.

In today’s giant slalom Mikaela could only secure the seventh position, while her rival Petra Vlhova finished on the podium at third place.

Mikaela Shiffrin wins her fourth world cup

After a terrible experience at Beijing Winter Olympics, no one would have expected such a remarkable comeback by Mikaela. Going into the world cup 2022, she was under constant pressure to defend her world number one position threatened by Slovakian skier Petra Vlhova. However, she brought forth her A-game in the competition and defended her world cup rank as well as won the world cup.
