Alpine skiing legend Lindsey Vonn is a name that people outside the sport also know of. Her talent is not limited to gliding smoothly on snow. Being a businesswoman, after retirement, her knowledge of investments is increasing gradually. Earlier, she has shown her interest in investing in cryptocurrencies. Now she has accompanied some big names as an investor for an expanding female football team.

The three-time Olympic medalist and legend tennis player Billie Jean King came forward to contribute to the upcoming women’s team football. Although, the biggest name on the investor list is Serena Williams. She and her husband Alexis Ohanian became the investors back in July 2020.

Lindsey Vonn and King join hands with big investors

The female football team, Angel City FC, belongs to Los Angeles. Angel City FC has a majority of women as their owners. Meanwhile, the main trio owners are Julie Uhrman, Natalie Portman, and Kara Nortman. The female football team is the 11th to join the league after launching in 2022.

However, as the list was updated in 2020, some big names also showed their contribution. The new investors include the name of tennis player Billie Jean King, Olympic gold medalist in basketball Candace Parker, and Alpine skiing three-time gold winner Lindsey.

Per the statement Jean King gave, she is proud to support women for football. She said, “We need everyone to invest in women’s sports, and [partner Ilana Kloss] and I are proud to stand with the Angel City FC ownership group and help make new history in Southern California sports.”

Afterward, King praised Angel City’s players and mentioned, “Angel City’s mission to make an impact on-and off-the-field. And to provide an opportunity to some of the best professional female athletes in the world.” Nevertheless, there was no official statement made by Lindsey regarding her investment. Apart from Vonn, Billie, and Serena, the investor’s list comprised Ilana Kloss, Candace, Lailaa Parker, PK Subban, Becky G, Sophia Bush, Deirdre DeLany, James Corden, Cobi Jones, and Ryan Kalil.
