Keeping Lindsey Vonn away from skiing isn’t an easy task, despite the legendary alpine ski star having retired 4 years ago. The third-most World Cup-winning icon has done it all and won it all, but there was one dream that she didn’t have the opportunity to achieve during her heyday. However, the latent desire has finally been materialized, and how!

Lindsey Vonn has often talked about how children should be given extensive support by their parents for them to achieve their goals. And yet, one of her biggest regrets has been being unable to conquer the legendary Streif in Austria. However, it looks like the stars have finally aligned for the 39-year-old skier as she made her wish come true.

In a recent post on Instagram, Vonn can be seen taking on one of the world’s scariest skiing courses. With Vonn bidding goodbye to her professional life years ago, she may not have thought the opportunity would ever come her way again. But as destiny would have it, one of the world’s best would eventually find her way back and make her unfulfilled dream come true with a little help from some friends.

Never thought I’d get the chance to ski this legendary downhill track in my life“, wrote Vonn. The post also shows a video as Vonn races downhill with a perfect display of skills that once again highlights why she is considered one of the best in the business. Not only did Vonn achieve her longstanding dream, but she also did it at night, making the feat all the more commendable.

However, Vonn also clarified that the video clip doesn’t reflect the reality at all, as the Streif is much more steeper than it looks on TV, said Vonn. “It is something to behold“, proclaimed the international icon. “Thank you @redbull for making my dreams come true“, exclaimed Lindsey, as she looked to return to her quaint post-retirement life once again. However, that’s not to say it doesn’t have its perks for the retired skier.

Vonn getting accustomed to the weather change

The skier has often said that cold climate isn’t something she’s fond of, despite having made a name for herself on the coldest places on the planet. Hence, moving to Miami after retirement was the only logical step Vonn could’ve taken. She spends her days as one of the owners of the soccer team Angel City FC, while also working as the brand ambassador for Under Armor.

Now, with Vonn finally getting around to making the coveted trip to the Streif, we believe she will get back to her current life with a breath of fresh air and the aim to take on new challenges in the coming days.
