Alpine skiing GOAT Mikaela Shiffrin is all set to embark on another new season. The 7x World Champion has been making several headlines in the wake of the upcoming FIS Alpine Ski World Cup. The 28-year-old is perfectly ready to take her record-breaking number of World Cup victories above the 88 mark. Shiffrin broke the previous World Cup wins record during the last season.

In an unexpected turn of events, Shiffrin said that she would be parting with part of the gear 2022 gear. In fact, the announcement comes just a couple of days away from the Ski World Cup,

Mikaela Shiffrin has established herself on top of a sport that demands extreme levels of dexterity and flawlessness in technique. The Slalom Queen loves her gear a lot and relies on it to cross the finish line before anybody else can. However, she will be losing part of it before embarking on the 2022-23 World Cup. While she is going to get separated from her gear, she is doing so voluntarily. Moreover, she is actually losing her prized possession to one of her fans as part of a giveaway. 

Shiffrin is giving away the mittens that helped her win the 2022-23 World Cup along with the Slalom and Giant Slalom. She shared the update via her official Instagram handle along with Reusch Winter. Shiffrin explained the instructions for the giveaway and wished her fans good luck. While the US skiing legend is leaving behind a prized possession, her eyes are still fixed on the top prize. In fact, the 28-year-old star skier said that she doesn’t plan on decelerating anytime soon.

Shiffrin to still go full-throttle for the upcoming season

The American has surpassed everyone in this regard irrespective of gender, claiming more wins than anyone in both men and women. The skiing GOAT confidently said that she will be going full-throttle in the upcoming World Cup. While she did admit that she had already crossed all the milestones that needed crossing, she could still glide more quickly.

Mikaela Shiffrin said that she didn’t begin the sport with a checklist. However, she is at a point where she can’t even make one. But, the world champion still wants to seek the thrill of greater speeds and faster runtimes. Moreover, she also mentioned that she feels that her speed is actually still on the rise.
