Mountaineering is one of the most daring sports. Combine it with skiing, and you get one of the toughest combinations of strength, endurance, speed, and technique called steep skiing. Hailing from Poland, this professional steep skier has made his name in the sport as the greatest of all time. He is known for climbing one of the highest mountain peaks in the world and then skiing down from their summits. However, this is not the X-factor that separates him from other steep skiers. What makes this skier number one is the fact that he achieves his feats without the use of additional oxygen. This skiing ace is none other than Andrzej Bargiel.

Andrzej Bargiel is a 35-year-old steep skiing legend who is most notably known for skiing down the summit of Mount K2. Kanchenjunga 2, or K2, is the second-highest mountain on earth, and Bargiel made history by becoming the first person to ski down from its top. Bargiel is back with the same intensity again, but he’ll take on a different mountain this time. To fulfill his endless hunger for adventure, Bargiel has come to the mountains of China and Pakistan.

Andrzej Bargiel has set his sight on the summit of the 11th largest mountain peak in the world. Gasherbrum I offers one of the most beautiful as well as one of the most deadly terrains. While Bargiel has already climbed the second-highest peak on earth, Gasherbrum I presents a unique challenge because of its tricky and cryptic landscape. According to an Instagram upload by Bagriel, the steep skiing maestro will set out for the Gasherbrum on 26th July 2023.
