“Started When I Had My First Big Knee Surgery”: Lindsey Vonn Makes a Heartbreaking Confession on Her Health Issues

The biggest challenge Lindsey Vonn faced during her career was the looming injuries. Although the skiing legend recovered from most, she is paying for some of them even after retirement. However, after struggling with the consequences caused by her injuries for years, Vonn has finally found a cure for her sleep disorder.

To go through such horrific crashes in her career and still feel passionate about skiing shows that Lindsey Vonn loves the sport more than anything else. She is an adventure seeker and constantly craves to satiate her adrenaline rush calling whenever she finds the opportunity. Perhaps that’s why she chose one of the most extreme winter sports out there.

Lindsey Vonn recalls the after-effects of her knee surgery

Talking to the TODAY host, Lindsey admitted, “I actually have had insomnia for quite some time and it started when I have my first big knee surgery. You know as an athlete how important sleep is. I was laying in bed after surgery in a lot of pain and trying to sleep and I couldn’t. The anxiety behind it just got me down really bad.”

However, it feels good to hear that the skiing legend has finally found a cure for her insomnia. She further added, “I have tried so many different things to try to rectify that. I hadn’t found anything until now and I am so excited to be partnered with Idorsia and to be able to share sleep story with everyone.”

 

Well, Lindsey has been through a lot of injuries and surgeries during her career. Therefore, the fact that she is still fighting them proves how strong of an individual she is.

Vonn collaborates with drug company Idorsia

Lindsey has a dozen of deals with several brands. However, this is the first time she is teaming up with a drug company. Though it’s something she has been personally using to take care of her sleep disorder. In her recent Instagram post, the skier revealed QUVIVIQ as the best solution to insomnia and how it has changed her life.

Lindsey has partnered with Idorsia as Patient Ambassador for QUVIVIQ and she is trying to aware as many people as possible about an effective medicine to treat insomnia.
