Chris Snow’s fight with ALS was phenomenal. He was diagnosed with cancer last year and was told that he would live for just twelve months. Surprisingly, Snow even outlived his predicament. The 42-year-old succumbed to the chronic disease on 1st October. In 2019, when the prognosis for Calgary Flames GM proved grim upon his diagnosis, the resilience and determination to defy it, together with the drive to raise more awareness about an underfunded disease stand out as an example.

However, sadly enough, after struggling against ALS bravely for three consecutive years, he passed away on Saturday. And for American star skier Lindsey Vonn, it hit close to home. Vonn, whose mother passed away last year, after battling with ALS shared a post on her social media page, mourning Snow.

On hearing the news of his demise, Vonn had an emotional response. Having known the strain it puts on not just the patient, but the family too, Lindsey wrote in memory of Snow, “This is tragic. My sincere condolences to the Snow family. ALS is a horrific disease. RIP.” Expressing deep sadness Lindsey Vonn extended condolences to their distressed family.

Chris Snow together with his wife, Kelsey Snow began a mission of creating awareness as well as soliciting funds in support of ALS research. Several members of the Snow family died of ALS, including Chris’s father, two uncles, and a cousin. They have family members who suffer from ALS.
