“She Has Enjoyed Being Here With Me”- Mikaela Shiffrin’s Boyfriend Opens Up on Their Experience at Beijing Winter Olympics 2022

If not for her boyfriend Aleksander Kilde, Mikaela Shiffrin would have lost all hopes in herself at the Beijing Winter Olympics 2022. With him beside her at the Olympics, it was like walking through a gunfight but with a bulletproof jacket on. He is the one who comforted her in what could be said as the most challenging times of her entire professional career.
Going into the Beijing Olympics together, they would have thought it was going to be the best winter trip ever. On many levels, it indeed was. Only the results could’ve been better for the two-time Olympic gold medalist Mikaela Shiffrin. However, as a couple, it might have been the most important few weeks of their life. They celebrated each other’s victory and shared each other’s setbacks all together and probably came out stronger than ever.

Aleksander Kilde talks about why it was special, being at the Beijing Winter Olympics with Mikaela Shiffrin
After being there for each other through thick and thin, the Norwegian skier reveals how special it was for him to share such a grand stage as Olympics with his girlfriend Mikaela Shiffrin. He said, “It’s been such a good time, Of course the results for both of us could have been better. I’ve had a great Olympics. She has had a less great Olympics, but I think she has enjoyed being here with me, and I’ve definetly enjoyed being here with her.”
“We’ll remember it for the rest of our lives.”

He further added, “it’s just being together in something big like the Olympics. we’re going to remember this for the rest of our lives and we can look back at it, and it’s the stories that you remember.” Aleksander brought home two medals from Beijing; a silver in the combined race, and a bronze in the super-G event.
