“Pleasure to Watch You”- Mikaela Shiffrin Congratulates Tennis World Number One Iga Swiatek on Her Recent Achievement

If there’s one thing Mikaela Shiffrin is really good at (obviously apart from the skiing) it’s celebrating other’s victories. In the Beijing Winter Olympics 2022 as well, while her world came crashing down with one disappointment after the other, she was celebrating her boyfriend Aleksandar Kilde’s victory like her own. Now it’s time to celebrate her close friend and tennis star Iga Swiatek’s triumph.

The friendship between the skier and a tennis player started when Iga’s sports psychologist Daria Abramowicz said“Be like Mikaela Shiffrin.” Of course, being Mikaela Shiffrin is not everyone’s cup of tea, but the Olympic champion is surely a great inspiration for many. After that, the 20-year-old Iga Swiatek followed Mikaela on social media and yet another sports friendship blossomed.

Miami Open brought great joy to Iga Swiatek. She not only won the tournament but now she is the world number one in the WTA rankings. A congratulatory message from one world number one to another was sort of expected. Mikaela shared her friends’ accomplishments on her Twitter handle and wrote“Omggggg!! However, right from the start of the world cup, her world number one standings were under threat by rival Petra Vlhova. Like a true champion, Mikaela handled the pressure with ease and claimed her fourth overall world cup victory.
