Tennis Sensation Jannik Sinner Fulfills His Promise to US Legend Lindsey Vonn

How often do you see players of different sports hanging out with one another? Well, they surely need to have something in common to be spending some time together, like Lindsey Vonn and Jannik Sinner. The two sports celebrities share a common love for skiing.

The Italian tennis sensation Jannik is a junior national champion in giant slalom. He started skiing and playing tennis simultaneously, however till the age of 12 he was more inclined towards skiing.

He switched to tennis again at the age of 13 and finally pursued it as a professional career, while sometimes his love of skiing pulls him back to the snow-laden mountains in the off-season.

During the US Open 2021, Jannik got the opportunity to meet his favorite skier since childhood, Lindsey Vonn. That’s when the idea of skiing with the legend occurred to him.

After their meet for a sponsored activity, Jannik said, “It was nice to meet her and have a few words with her, a champion I watched competing on TV when I was a child. At the end of the season, if I can, I said that I will take her skiing on my mountains.”

Well, his wish certainly came true after a year as he posted a picture of him with Lindsey Vonn walking towards the Plan de Corones in Italy. Before his Davis Cup Qualifier tie game, skiing through the mountains of Italy with the legend would have given him a great confidence boost.

The first man born in the 2000s to reach top ATP rankings

Jannik Sinner’s decision to choose tennis over skiing has made him the first man born in the 2000s to reach the top ATP rankings. Of course, the 20-year-old has put in a lot of groundwork to achieve this feat. The Italian tennis player has won five ATP titles in singles and one in doubles so far in his brief career.
