Unfortunately, Gu was forced to pull out of the X Games, and fans wished her a speedy recovery. While one favorite had to bow out early, Chloe Kim rose to the occasion in great superstar form, which is why she is the crowd favorite. Kim took her performance to scream dominance and tied with Shaun White’s record to become one of the G.O.A.Ts. Her epic display not only left jaws on the floor but also solidified her legacy as a winter sports queen.

Guess what? Chloe Kim is now just one title short of Shaun White’s jaw-dropping record of eight X Games Aspen halfpipe golds! But if you include her win at the X Games in Oslo, you’ll find her standing shoulder to shoulder to White on overall wins. And it was a double-decker of historical feats honestly, as she snagged her seventh X Games Aspen women’s snowboard halfpipe title thereby breaking her previous tie with Kelly Clark for the most wins in the event’s history. Talk about leveling up in style!

Kim got off to a flying start as she scored 93.33 points on the first attempt. This was not just any run though, as it was the first time in the X Games women’s halfpipe that a double cork was performed. And guess what? And that score was the highest throughout both rounds of the competition. But wait, there was more! With the gold already secured, she landed the same cab double cork 1080 on her second run before a tumble on her next trick. But in true Chloe fashion, she popped right back up, grinning all the way down the pipe like the boss she is.

On the same day, another American, Maddie Mastro, also gave her best performance and secured the second position with 89.66 points. Her highlight? The final move, the double crippler where she just tossed two backflips on the floor as if it was nothing. Stars on snow, redefining what’s possible—this is what X Games magic looks like! And guess what? Chloe Kim even reveals her feeling of that historic trick move!
