Shaun White doing his insane tricks on a snowboard is perhaps a visual treat to witness. Sometimes he defies gravity, and sometimes he is up in the air doing somersaults. However, everything wouldn’t have been possible if Shaun’s parents, Cathy and Roger White, hadn’t supported his dream. Clearly, snowboarding is one of the most expensive winter sports out there and mere talent wouldn’t have made him a snowboarding legend.

When Shaun White bid farewell to snowboarding at the Beijing Winter Olympics, everyone was in tears, including him. Over his 20 years of dominance in the sport, he has helped in defining what snowboarding is today. His contribution to the sport is simply unparalleled and it’ll forever be his legacy. Though now that he is retired, it would be interesting to see what more can he give to the sport.

How much money did Shaun’s parents spend on his career?

As of 2022, Shaun White’s estimated net worth is $65 million. However, there was a time when his family didn’t have enough money to pay for the expensive sport he wished to pursue as a child. But that didn’t stop his parents from supporting his dream. As per a report, “Shaun’s parents were willing to invest $20,000 into their son’s future, despite being on a tight budget.”

Looking back, perhaps Shaun’s parents might realize their son was worth every penny they ever spent on him. Additionally, with his whopping net worth, he can pay them back with interest for each year. Not that money really matters for both Shaun and his parents against their relationship.
