For years, Shaun White dazzled us with his snowboarding skills. If he was not flipping and spinning on his snowboard, he was doing the same on his skateboard. The X Games legend has many titles to his name and is one of the greatest athletes in both these sports. Mentored by the GOAT Tony Hawk, Shaun quickly made a name for himself in the sporting world.

His fame grew so much that offers from beyond the sporting realm became available for the ‘flying tomato.’ Acting in a movie was one such offer, which he gladly accepted.

More movies on the cards for Shaun White?

Like any other profession, acting is no uncomplicated task. It is one of the toughest jobs out there. An untrained person acting anywhere rarely goes well, but when it does, people talk about it for ages. Much like his athletic prowess, Shaun White proved to be a decent actor with his debut in the film ‘Friends with Benefits.’ The snowboarder played the role of a hothead, looking to pick up a fight with anyone over anything.

After having done a decent job at it, White was once asked if we would see him act in more movies. Shaun replied, “I’d love to do some more movies because I had a really good time, but I’m definitely waiting for the right role to come along.”

Following his role in the movie, Shaun was seen playing a role in a few more films. The list includes Cloud 9, The Smurfs 2, American Dad!, and Henry Danger. He also made a cameo appearance in the 2014 film ‘Stretch’ starring Patrick Wilson, Chris Pine, and Jessica Alba.

Not the only GOAT athlete who took a shot at acting

While it was great to see Shaun try his hand at acting and do a good job at it, he isn’t the only athlete to have given acting a chance. Gymnastics GOAT Simone Biles also made a surprise cameo in an iconic TV series.

April 2022 proved to be a successful month for Simone. She launched her first line of clothing with ‘Athleta,’ found her wedding gown, and made a surprise cameo in the series finale of the show ‘Black-ish.’ The star gymnast appeared as herself on the show and had a heartwarming conversation with Dre (Anthony Anderson). After the two share an intense conversation, Biles sets about to take her leave. Dre asked her if she could do a backflip on her way out, and Biles politely declines. She made a funny revelation about former President Barack Obama requesting the same thing.

It is amazing to see athletes do what they do best, but it is equally enjoyable (if not more) to see them try their hand at something entirely different. Shaun’s acting career has been one such endeavor.
