Sha’Carri Richardson the American track and field sprinter is known for being one of the fastest women in history at 19 years old. The athlete competed in the 200m Botswana Golden Grand Prix in Gaborone and opened her diamond league campaign. On Saturday, the star set a 10.57 second in 100 meters at the Miramar Invitational.

Richardson surprised her fans with one more amazing piece of news that the athlete has been nominated for “Sportswoman of the Year 2023” at the BET Awards. Fans will now see her competing against the tennis legend Serena Williams and other sports stars for the category. Apart from this amazing news, fans were stunned by her glamorous look and her appearance at the award function.

The American sprinting star was spotted in a shining avatar at the BET Award function which she shared on her Instagram post. Richardson was wearing a black slim-fit long dress with black detailed hand embroidery on it. And her dazzling look was complimented with a black hand-embroidered clutch and elegant earrings.

Sha’Carri’s look received plaudits from fans, sports stars, and other famous personalities. Her dear friend Aleia Hobbs commented on the post by saying, “My love.” Sha’Carri’s look has always been recognized as ‘over the top,’ “We see it in Richardson’s statement, ‘I am THAT girl’, but we also see it in her aesthetics. It is imperative for black women to do and be supported in doing it because it is not space that is freely given to them in the world”, says Eric Pritchard, comparing self-expression with Richardson’s unique style. Sha’Carri Richardson was surprised to be competing in the category of ‘Sportswoman of the Year’ with other female Sports legends, such as Serena Williams, Naomi Osaka, Candace Parker, Alexis Morris, Allyson Felix, and Angel Reese. She expressed her appreciation by saying, “God’s approval is the only award I need, but it’s an honor to be amongst these beautiful black women to be a nominee for this award!!! Plus, YALL SEE ALL THEM LADIES TIGERS”. She also shared an Instagram story enjoying the award show with her friend.
