Becoming a strongman is no easy feat. People who train to become strongmen must be very dedicated to achieving this goal as it takes years of hard work. But can they still make room for other passions? Eddie Williams proved it is feasible when he auditioned for a popular talent show.
Although strongman training can look similar to bodybuilding, they are both different. While bodybuilders work towards improving their physical appearance and strength, strongmen are concerned with the aspect of making themselves stronger.

Therefore, strongmen are muscular, but they also have a higher body fat ratio. It makes them appear bulkier than the average bodybuilder.
Strongman Eddie Williams breaks away from the norm
One such strongman auditioned for Australia’s Got Talent 2019. Eddie Williams is an athlete who has competed in various Strongman competitions. Moreover, he also won Australia’s Strongest Man title consecutively in 2017 and 2018. Furthermore, he represented his country at the 2019 World’s Strongest Man contest in Tachi Palace.
However, when Williams auditioned for the talent show in 2019, it was not to showcase his strength. He auditioned to demonstrate a different skill that the strongman possessed.

He arranged the perfect act that went with his history of being a strongman athlete for the show. Williams enters the stage while rolling a 150 kg cement ball with his feet. He lifts the ball effortlessly and balances it atop two tires.
He then exits the stage and returns with another cement ball weighing 165 kg. The strongman athlete proceeded to lift and place the second ball on top of a second pair of tires a few feet away. When he disappeared for the third time behind the stage, the audience expected him to appear with a third ball.
However, Eddie Williams broke away from routine, carrying a wooden plank this time. He then carefully balances the plank between the two cement balls. The athlete carefully sits on the plank and pauses for a while.
He finally breaks the silence as he lifts the mic and sings a mellifluous rendition of Ordinary People by John Legend. The crowd was left bewitched by this confounding performance. And he concluded the song amidst massive cheer from the crowd and a standing ovation from all the judges.
Which position did he land at the talent show?

The judges during the 2019 season were Nicole Scherzinger, Shane Jacobson, Manu Feildel, and Lucy Durack, all of whom were equally impressed by the athlete’s singing. He rose the ladder to become one of the season’s semi-finalists in the competition.

Moreover, Williams also auditioned for the second season of America’s Got Talent: The Champions with the same act. However, the talented singer did not move past the Preliminaries in the American version of the talent show.
Williams is a multi-talented person and possesses two very contrasting talents simultaneously. Indeed, a unique combination of talents and a rarity.
