Pe’ahi beachgoers saw sheer destruction

The small town of Maui, Florida is famous for its picturesque beauty and perfect geographical position for surfers. Visit the beach any day, you will get to see a huge crowd of swimming enthusiasts strolling all around. People enjoy the big waves which made it easy to show off their skills. But with the disguise of serenity comes carnage that takes lives brutally.

A TikTok video from a user on November 2021 conveyed the crucial situation of the place and wrote, “Carnage at Jaws”. At the initial stage of the video, some surfers were seen relaxing on their surfboards while a colossal wave hit them. And within a blink of an eye, as the wave passed, there were only boards floating, and no man was on the frame.

This video indeed made an impact on the spectators. The news of several deaths was spread. People were left with trauma as no one even get a chance to save lives. Though that’s the drill that comes with the entertainment it provides. It also reminds of another fatal encounter at a beach at Tahiti.

Big-wave surfing proved to be detrimental

Like Florida, the beaches of Tahiti are also marked as the most lethal. Evidently, the place saw some tremendous accidents followed by big-wave surfing. Apart from facing shark attacks, the ocean has a fair share of enormous waves that can destroy life in a moment. Recently, the Men’s Journal shared a report after marking this place as a dangerous surfing point.

The savage undercurrent of the waves isn’t the only obstacle for surfers. A thick ridge of rock has developed near the surface of the deposition of the corals. Hitting the corals can apparently lead to decapitation.
