Golf, like any other sport, is filled with delightful intricacies, mostly brought on by the myriad of shots that golfers take from various positions on the field. A lot of the time, they attempt trick shots that both serve their purpose and dazzle the audience. However, to do this stunning eye-catching stunt on the sea, while surfing on a wave, is something that professional golfer Romain Beechu has expertise in. Sharing his recent ‘Golf-Surfing’ trick shot on Instagram, surfing legend Kelly Slater has hilariously called out golfing great Tiger Woods, alongside Justin Thomas, and Rickie Fowler.

Romain Beechu is a professional golfer and trickshot artist who recently put out his video on Instagram. Impressed by it, Kelly Slater shared it in his story and name-dropped some famous golfers to attempt the same. They are yet to respond though.

Doing golf trick shots while surfing can be incredibly difficult

Kelly Slater recently took to his Instagram story and wrote, “@kellyjamesmusic, it’s time for @tigerwoods @justinthomas34 @rickiefowler and the boys to step up their trick shot game”. He followed it with two emojis, one a smiley face, and another a guy with raised arms in a doubtful manner. The video Slater had attached was that of Beechu, which in turn Beechu had posted on his Instagram page.

In his post, Romain Beechu went, “One of the most difficult golf trickshots ever attempted – juggling a golf ball while surfing in the barrel of a wave! A totally unprecedented feat, it has been my dream as a golfer and my passion as a surfer to defy the strongest and most beautiful of elements: the Ocean”. He also tagged his business partners and urged his fans to check his YouTube channel where he posted the large video.

In the clip, Beechu was barreling down a wave before riding a few large ones, all the while holding a golf club and juggling the golf ball with that club. It was as incredible to watch as it was difficult to do.

Tiger Woods’s best trick shot ever

Kelly Slater himself hasn’t performed any such tricks with a golf ball yet, he has ridden down many such large waves in his life. Whereas on the other hand, Tiger Woods has performed many trick shots in golf in his lifetime but hasn’t surfed down a wave while doing it. In an interview from 2018, Tiger Woods showed some of his favorite trick shots at the Wembley Stadium. During the course of the interview, he was continuously doing the ‘Keepie uppies’, and then proceeded to show his best trick shot – what he calls the Baseball shot. Woods continued the ‘Keepie uppie’ and then smashed the ball like a baseball batter. He did miss it the first time though.

As far as doing any such trick shot on a surfboard is concerned, neither Woods nor Justin Thomas nor Rickie Fowler have done it yet. Whether they do it as a response to Kelly Slater’s request-cum-challenge remains to be seen.
