Imagine being stuck outside in the wide sea on your boat. Suddenly, as the wind grows wild and you feel that you might topple soon, someone comes to your rescue. Something similar occurred when actress Lena Dunham and her trainer Tracy Anderson went paddle boating in 2015. As their boat rocked to and fro, surfing legend Laird Hamilton appeared to help them.

Laird Hamilton or the king of the seas?

The way Dunham described the story sounded like an adventure. She and Anderson got on their boat and paddled away toward their destination. However, the winds soon got rough and began pushing them away from their destination. While both knew paddling, they soon found that they weren’t as strong as the wind and began drifting away. When hope seemed bleak, a hero emerged!

Dunham gleefully exclaimed how Laird Hamilton appeared out of the blue! With a serious demeanor, the surfer guided them to safe waters. However, the duo was overjoyed to see Hamilton coming to their rescue like a hero. “Lena thought he was like King Triton!” Anderson teased. While the surfer tried his best to instruct and lead them toward a safe passage, both Dunham and Anderson couldn’t stop giggling at the situation.

On the other hand, Hamilton recalled this situation with an air of concern. Since the wind went rogue that day, the organizers and the surfer both knew that the paddlers would need assistance at some point. When the surfer initially met up with the actress, he had advised her not to wear a wetsuit, or she’d overexert herself. In the middle of the sea, the surfer assured them that he would tow them to safety if the need be.

Since Hamilton had already been a huge supporter of Dunham, the rescue operation wasn’t surprising. He kept encouraging her throughout the event and even called her one of the hardest workers. The duo made it to safety with heaps of appreciation for the surfer. After all, it’s not every day that Laird Hamilton would appear from the depths of the sea to rescue you!
