Perth, the home to top-class tourist attractions like Elizabeth Quay, Swan Valley Vineyards, WACA, Bell Tower, State War Memorial, etc, is soon to get a new attraction to their city. Years of waiting and much deliberation later, Western Australian state planners have given their nod of approval to this monumental project. It is one which is bound to bring more International tourists to their country. What it would also do, is give a huge boost to surfers around the country.

Australia has always been a tourist haven of sorts. And the country, like a few others in the Western Hemisphere, has been obsessed with the sport of surfing. Putting all these factors in a basket, Aventuur, a global surf park creator, has spent around $100 million on their behemoth project. It is soon to become a game changer.

Surfs Up: A reason to celebrate for the entire Western Australia

There was a small hiccup during the early development phase of this project. But this didn’t hinder the dream project. Aventuur’s $100 million surfing park in the Cockburn area of Perth is soon to turn into a reality. After the project was green-lit, it soon became news fodder all around. What made it a historic occasion was not that it will be the largest ever surf-park in Australia on completion. But it is going to be the largest ever surf park in the whole of the Southern Hemisphere.

City of Cockburn councilor and panel member Chontelle Stone said to Perth Now that it would, “generate tourism for the greater Perth area” and that it would create a “world-class facility”. Greater Perth has innumerable water-body attractions like Swan River and Hillarys Boat Harbour. It will soon get an equal, if not bigger, competitor in terms of tourism activity.

They have also expressed gratitude to the various people involved in the long diplomatic process of approval.

The surf park is coming up in Jandakot in the southern suburb of Perth. It will be open to the public tentatively by 2025. Be ready to expect world-class surfers from all around the globe to soon grace this suburb of Perth.
