Meet New York’s Newest Superstar Addition to the World Surfing Scene Who Just Won the VANS Pipeline

The new surfing era has seen a surge of surfers that have been dominating the sport lately. Born on September 5, 1991, in Sebastian, Florida, Balaram Stack is one of the emerging surfers out there. He is named after the Hindu god Balaram and prefers wearing Jordans and Yankees. He also prefers surfing over anything else.
Stack started riding waves at the age of three. He is the youngest in his family and has two brothers who are into surfing too and are his sources of motivation as well. Let’s take a look at the legend in making.

Surfing profile of Balaram Stack
Stack wasn’t sure about his future. He always thought of being a baseball player and kept surfing as his second priority. Later on, however, he fell in love with the sport and there was no holding him back. The prodigy’s luck sparked when the surfing industry’s top brand, Quiksilver, showed an interest in him.

Stack is also considered the sport’s most creative aerialist. His first time in the big leagues was in 2011, when he got into the World Surf League (WSL). Although the legendary Kelly Slater mostly dominated the event.
Balaram Stack also has his own documentary, “Stacked,” which premiered back in 2012. A second documentary named ‘Hail Mary’ chronicled the life of Stack’s mother, to whom he dedicates his achievements. The film also paid homage to his city New York and his surfing community as well. Recently, the surfer made a breakthrough in surfing’s biggest event.
Vans Pipeline Masters 2022
Recently, Stack shut down the naysayers who believed surfing was not a New Yorker thing. He won the 2022 Men’s Vans Pipeline Masters tournament at the Banzai Pipeline in Oahu, Hawaii.

Not only did he make his surfing family proud, but he also made the whole of New York proud. He received a check for $100,000 in prize money after winning the event.
