Surfing legend Kelly Slater, who is regarded as the greatest professional surfer of all time, once shared his anger for people who keep dolphins as pets. He expressed his disagreements with people who keep dolphins in captivity with some firm words.

Slater is an American professional surfer who is renowned for winning the World Surf League championship a staggering 11 times.

Kelly Slater hates keeping dolphins in captivity

Kelly Slater once shared how he hates those people who keep dolphins in captivity. He said, “Putting them in captivity should allow violent means if necessary to free them. Makes me crazy angry.” Slater said this in support of his BFF Joe Rogan, who posted on Instagram about his hatred for people who keep dolphins in captivity.

Rogan shared that the real place of these sea creatures is out there in the ocean and not in captivity. In his caption, the UFC commentator wrote, “Putting them in captivity should be 100% illegal worldwide.”

Slater also suggests strict action should be taken against those who keep these beautiful creatures in captivity. It harms the dolphins and causes many mental health issues in them.

Slater is an avid supporter of a sustainable and clean living lifestyle. At times, he also supports initiatives that support the environment and prevent its harm. The surfing icon also works for protecting temperate reefs in California through his partnership with Reef Check. He is very passionate about preserving oceans as well.
