Surfing legend returns to the waves

Traveling away from the North Shore of Hawaii in search of majestic waves is what O’Brien does best. Recently, on his YouTube channel that goes by his name, he documented his fun adventure surfing in the crystal clear sea lost beyond palm trees. One can feel the emotion of heading back to land when you’re surfed out and barreled out upon the final meeting with the waves.

True to the experience, the title says, “WE FOUND THE PERFECT WAVE IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE!.” In the video, the 40-year-old and his team went on an excursion to locate the ideal waves in an isolated spot. His other cinematic videos also show their journey to find and ride the perfect wave. O’Brien is now renowned for his surfing devotion and ability to spot the best waves across the world. From his favorite surfing destination to capturing iconic shots he mentions all of it in his social media accounts. The YouTube sensation has surfing videos for every surf fan, including his popular series “Who is JOB,” which has garnered him global fame.

Known in the surfing industry for his remarkable exploits in the Surf League qualifying series and championship tour. He came first in the Hansen’s Pipeline Pro in 2003 and continued his winning streak thereon. Next year he won the Fosters Expression Trestles and the Rip Curl Pipeline followed by the Billabong Pipeline Masters. He last won the inaugural Volcom Pipe Pro back in 2010. While his professional journey came to a pause, he continued to remain close to the sport.

The Surf Champ is remarkable in every aspect of the sport, from legs on surfboards to media creation. O’Brien mingled into the venture of co-founding and creating Jamie O’Brien Surf Experience, a Hawaii Surf School focused on Oahu surf teaching.
