The video was shared on O’Brien’s official Facebook account, titled “Storm Surfing in Oahu”. The footage begins with O’Brien showcasing his awe-inspiring skills, gracefully riding the waves. This is interrupted by his occasional wipeouts. Notably, his partner in adventure, Tina Cohen, an accomplished athlete herself and co-founder of Aokai Swim, can be seen fearlessly riding the powerful swells alongside him. Cohen shared her experience, stating, “It was nice, It was really really cold and windy, but we had a lot of fun.”
O’Brien, beaming with pride at his surfing prowess, playfully asked, “You see me ripping, babe?”. Despite the distance between them, they managed to transform this daring escapade into a moment brimming with romance and lasting memories. Reflecting on the day’s exhilarating surf session, the 2010 Volcom Pipeline Pro champion, exclaimed, “It was fun for a rainy, cloudy, windy day on the North Shore.” Energized by their exploits, they eagerly proclaimed that it was only the beginning. They expressed their determination to embark on a bomb drop, setting the stage for another action-packed day in the vast ocean. This recent stormy challenge with his girlfriend, Tina, is not their first adventure together.

Jamie O’Brien is no stranger to sharing his surfing adventures on social media, often uploading videos to his YouTube channel. Just a few months ago, the surfing champion delighted his followers with another video titled “Surfing With My Girlfriend at Waimea Bay,” a renowned spot for massive waves. O’Brien confidently stated, “We have 9-foot boards, so if a 30-footer comes in, we got the right board to catch the right wave.”
As they navigated the turf, they transitioned from lying down to standing up on their boards, flawlessly executing the technique. Wrapping up their remarkable session, they expressed their joy sharing, “It was amazing, I surfed after a while, it felt good.” Be it a tumultuous storm, or another day at the beach, together they defy the odds.
