Surfing is a sport that professional surfers and everyone else like to take a chance on. It’s not about being a pro surfer, it is about enjoying surfing and having a zeal for water. Well, lately many celebrities have come into appearance, taking a chance with surfing and some other celebrities have excellent surfing skills. Liam Hemsworth has some excellent surfing skills that he tested on Australian beaches, then Adam Sandler and Cameron Diaz are well known for their wave-catching skills.

Some actors like Keanu Reeves have learned to surf for enhancing their acting roles and later tuned loving surfing. Now recently the Kenyan-Mexican actress Lupita Nyong’o dived into the water. Her boyfriend, Selema Masekela, is a professional surfer who sometimes trains Lupita for surfing. Lupita shared a video of her whole routine before surfing with the help of a surfing coach.

Lupita Nyong’o relishes her first surfing lesson

On 13th July 2023, the Black Panther actress posted her video on Instagram of learning her first surfing lesson in El Salvador. The surfing coach Marcelo Castellanos was seen giving her training for balancing, setting momentum, floating on water, and riding on the waves. The journey starts with basic lessons on surfing in the classroom, which then leads to the training room where she stretches her body with physical training. After getting a loose, flexible body, the training for surfboarding begins.

Nyong’o expressed her excitement on Instagram and wrote, “I am a surfer!! 🏄🏿‍♀️ Ok ok ok… my boyfriend @selema’s a surfer and I am an eager poser! In celebration of him hosting the #XGames this month, I’m sharing my first foray into SURFING.  last year under the incredible guidance of @marcelocsurf of @puro_surf in El Salvador 🇸🇻. I learned so much, faced major fears, and had A LOT OF FUN!! Can’t wait to get back in the waves #LupitaTriesEverything #Surf #SurfLife #Stoked.

After the training, she finally steps into the water with her surfboard and thoroughly enjoys every bit of the moment. The video is filled with giggles and laughter at the ending when Lupita begging surfing. Nyong’o opted to surf for a gig and to overcome her fear of water, but there are some actors like Helen Hunt and Gisele Bundchen who passionately surf to keep a good, healthy body.
