To sit on the rider seat of a surfer who breaks long waves down is indeed something insane. Let’s dig deeper to know what Reece shared in the interview.

How far Laird Hamilton can go?

Definitely, Reece was aware of her husband being among the “freest and wildest humans on the planet”. In many spine-chilling ventures, Reece was there with Hamilton, as she shared, “I don’t know why you would go towards that, like Laird just put me on a ski in front of a wave that’s like 60 feet. And like being on the back of a ski with him driving, there’s a moment when you go okay…and you turn and there’s a six-storey building behind you moving.”

Addressing Laird as someone who would love to confront death every day, she wondered, “How is that fun?”. Reece hilariously admitted that from the beginning she knew who she was going to marry. She then went on to talk about his tow-in surfing. Explaining how he customized the “hydrofoils” and made a structure of a mini airplane, Reece revealed how Hamilton holds up himself using the energy of the water. Reece understands his job and that’s what makes them the power couple.

The power couple

Recently, Hamilton and Reece celebrated their 25th year of togetherness. The couple is very active on social media sharing their life together there for fans to see. In the interview, she opened up about her side of the story and said, “I think the pursuit and they have to wait a lot that’s the other thing, these things don’t come around that often…there’s a little bit of suffering that goes on”.

Though it’s a bit tougher to manage, Reece just wanted to look back to the positive side. In addition, she also mentioned how Hamilton felt relaxed to return to his daughters after a long surfing day. Always looking to the brighter side, she wants the Waterman to make history.
