The surfing aficionado, Kelly Slater, is on the brink of his comeback after spending several months in rehabilitation. The absence of piercing through the waves seemed to increase his zest for the surfing pools. So, the surfing legend couldn’t hold his legs from trying his first outing in the Surf Abu Dhabi after receiving a release token from his rehab schedule. Apart from his love for surfing, Kelly Slater has often stayed true to his other devotion. 

Music has come as the adoration of the 11-time WSL champion. On a big surfing occasion back in 2006, Kelly Slater’s different avatar went viral. A social media post recently brought back memories of the same.

In the coveted opening ceremony of the Eddie Aikau Invitational, Kelly Slater has been a familiar face. The previous year, the surfing contest missed the legend dearly. But this year, at the onset of the coveted opening, Nalu Films took to Instagram to share Kelly Slater in different colors in the 2006 occasion of the event. The caption revealed, “Pearl Jam w/ Kelly Slater, 2006 Eddie Aikau Opening Ceremony Evening, Waimea Valley, Oahu”. The eclectic post tagged the music legends in the likes of Eddie Vedder. Unmistakably, the mood was as Nalu Films added, “Good times”. 

That musical night in 2006 had brought down more meaning as the concert had meant to serve several philanthropic sides. However, the main part appeared to conserve the local culture and ethnicity. Kelly Slater has also voiced that on several occasions. On this year’s occasion, the surfing spearhead couldn’t attend the ceremony. But his cultural practice through music didn’t go off foot. 

The music lineage of Kelly Slater 

For Kelly Slater, the beach bum music maestro Jimmy Buffett meant a higher notation. Mentioning the effects left by the late musician on his life, the surfing potentate claimed, “His music basically outlined the lives we desired…fishing, diving, dreaming about being in the tropics, playing music, and just living the dream.” The soul connection between those two legends was spotted at the prime point of Kelly’s life when he lost his father.

However, Kelly Slater didn’t come out lucky every time in his music connection. Once the funny bone, Tyler Allen reaped out a comical music appearance of Kelly Slater. In the video, he worked on Kelly Slater’s verbose nature, on several things. However, the song never became a reason for the fury of Kelly Slater. Rather, he enjoyed it a bit. However, Kelly Slater is yet to make another musical appearance after his revival from injury.
