Kai Lenny gave a decent performance at The Eddie just a few days back
The Eddie Aikau competitions took place on 22nd January 2023. Forty surfers from different parts of the world competed and nearly 50,000 spectators thronged Waimea Bay to watch the contest. Kai Lenny ended up in 5th position and Luke Shepardson, a local Oahu lifeguard, bagged the ultimate prize. Shepardson showed signs of winning after he took on a giant wave in his first round. He never slowed down after that. The tournament was making a comeback after 7 years (last in 2016), and so naturally the expectations were huge.
