The thrill of it all has attracted adrenaline junkies to the sport. However, with the growing fandom, surfing accidents have also risen, causing huge concern in the surfing community.

Recently, Waikiki, a popular Hawaiian surfing spot, has also reported a few accidents. In May, a 46-year-old surfer, while paddling in the waters of Waikiki, faced serious injuries after hitting his head with a board. And today, another accident was reported in the waters of Waikiki. Emergency services found a surfer unconscious at a surf break in Waikiki. He remained unresponsive.

Surfer found unconscious in Waikiki
Recently, a tragedy struck in the waters of Waikiki. A surfer in his 60s was found unconscious at a popular surf break. According to the Star Adviser, the man was first found by an Honolulu Ocean Safety lifeguard. And, with the help of other surfers, the lifeguard helped the unresponsive man reach the shore. Amid this concerning situation, other lifeguards provided the man with CPR and called the emergency services.

Around 2:15 in the afternoon, the first responders of the Honolulu Emergency Service Department received the call. They sent their team members to the surf break. The emergency service member took over with advanced life support and transported him to an emergency room. Unfortunately, the surfer is in critical condition and is receiving treatment in the hospital.

Interestingly, this is not the first time surfers have faced a near-death experience in the Waikiki waters. In May, a 46-year-old man injured himself seriously after hitting his head on a surfboard.

Surfing accidents in Waikiki waters
On May 7, a 46-year-old Hawaiian surfer paddling in the waters of Canoe Surf Break, fell from his surfboard and hit his head on the board. His search for the high tides went horribly wrong. Rescued from the waters, the surfer suffered some gnarly injuries. Emergency service members transferred him to the emergency room.

Interestingly, apart from surfing accidents, Waikiki has gained a reputation for many shark bites. Surfers mostly ride waves in the high tidal areas.
