With his impressive performance, Kelly announced that he will not easily give up on the sport he had dominated for so long.

Surfing legend Kelly Slater has been quite busy in the last couple of days. He attended the Oscars 2022 along with his two best sports buddies, Tony Hawk, and Shaun White. It was a wonderful evening, and the sports trio made it even more charming with their presence.

Surfing legend makes a strong comeback

The surfing legend went through a positive covid-19 before the start of the Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach event, which made his participation in the event doubtful. Also, Kelly was busy with the Oscars 2022, so she might not have got enough time for the preparation. However, in the Bells Beach event, currently happening in Australia, he once again brought forth his A-game. With a score of 7.17 out of 10, he finished in second place.

After his remarkable performance, the eleven times world champion said, “It’s nice to see everyone down here. It’s good to get started and get back to it. This is my 30th year at Bells. My first event here was in 1992 and I got smoked by Tom Curren and finished in equal 31st. It is really good to be back though.”

His initial reaction to Will Smith slapping host Chris Rock was that it was a part of a skit. Kelly said, “I looked over and saw Will walking up there and I thought it was all part of a skit. I was sort of looking down and I heard the slap and looked up and I was like, whoa what just happened? And everyone went quiet. It was all very awkward.”

Apart from the unfortunate incident, it was an amazing evening, and Kelly and his buddies had a great time at Oscars 2022.
