Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association allows boys to play on the girl?s team. This is permissible under the Massachusetts Equal Rights Amendment when there is no equivalent team for the boys. The rule was placed in the 70s and now the superintendent of Dighton-Rehoboth Bill Runey is calling out for a change in the rules. It all started with the unfortunate incident that occurred on the hockey game day between Dighton-Rehoboth and Swampscott High School.

Dave Portnoy on the hockey incident
The female field hockey player from Dighton-Rehoboth was accidentally shot by a fast-approaching ball in the face by the male field hockey Swampscott player. It happened during the third quarter of the game which Swampscott won. This was enough to spark the old debate in Massachusetts about the boys and the girls playing on the same team. In his X post, Dave Portnoy posted about the incident linking his article with the caption that said, ?As A Swampscott Man It?s Time For Me To Weigh In On This Male Swampscott Field Hockey Player Who Smashed A Girls Teeth In With A Shot??

In the article, he wrote about the boys playing in the women?s team. Using strong language, he said that boys have to be way too insecure to play in a girl’s team. He wrote at Barstoolsports.com, ? Guys should not be allowed to play female sports. It?s a wildly unfair competitive advantage. The MIAA and school administrators love to scream and yell how we are all equal and all have equal rights, but it?s just not true.??

?Portnoy also stated that boys and girls are anatomically different. It is pretty scientific that boys have a greater advantage over girls and MIAA should be held accountable for their ?dumb? rule. ?The girl who got her face broken should be allowed to sue the MIAA for everything they have, but that still won?t get her front two teeth back? added Dave Portnoy in his article at Barstoolsports.com.?
