Her support didn’t go unnoticed by the water queen. Soon after her events in the 2016 Rio Olympics, Katie shared a video addressed to Banks thanking her for her support. In the video, Katie said, “Hi Elizabeth, it’s Katie. I’m sorry I missed you here at the USA house. I’m here with my medals and beautiful Rio de Janeiro and thank you so much for the support. We really appreciate all the cheers we’ve been getting….”

The First Lady of Freestyle acknowledged everyone who has been supporting them on the Twitter-verse. She thanked all the fans around the world.

In the 2016 Rio Olympics, Ledecky won five medals, four gold (200 metres Freestyle, 4 x 200 metres Freestyle Relay, 400 metres Freestyle, & 800 metres Freestyle) and one silver (4 x 100 metres Freestyle Relay).

Following Katie’s video, Elizabeth Banks uploaded a similar video. In the video, she thanked Ledecky for her message and expressed how she was thrilled by it. Banks said, “Katie, thank you so much for the message. It was thrilling to get it from you and you are thrilling in the pool.”

She also congratulated the young swimmer on her victory. Banks revealed that she (Katie) inspires her kids and others around the world. She said, “Congratulations on all those medals. Go team USA.
