Michael Phelps joined the league of legends by winning a total of 28 Olympic medals. He is the most decorated athlete in the history of the Olympic games. Phelps showed immense courage and dedication throughout his lustrous career.

Michael Phelps always talked about how he would take inspiration from different athletes in the sporting domain. He believes that mindset is the primary weapon that an athlete needs to have to break through among the best. Phelps is known for his never give up attitude.
Michael Phelps meets Muhammad Ali
Michael Phelps revealed how is always looked up to the boxing legend Muhammad Ali as a fellow athlete. Ali’s speed and winning attitude inspired him a lot. Phelps also admired how Muhammad Ali stood for whatever he believed and was a voice for all the common people. “He was someone who stood up for what he believed in. Not only was he great for what he did inside the ring, but what he did outside the ring made him who he was”, said Phelps.

Michael met Muhammad Ali a few times. Remembering the best moments that they spent together was during a panel, Phelps paid tribute to the legendary boxer on Facebook live. Phelps termed the moments he spent with Muhammad Ali as unforgettable.
He described the moment when he clicked the iconic picture with the legend, Muhammad Ali. Narrating the iconic moment Phelps said,” I have a picture of him throwing a punch at me and I remember him saying to me before I went to Athens ‘You’d better win all those medals.“

Michael’s Philanthropy
Ever since Michael retired from the sport of swimming, he has been focusing on promoting the welfare of the people in society. Phelps has been very vocal about the mental health issues that he faced throughout his career. But he set an example by coming out stronger from a problem that slowed his progress.

After the Rio Olympics, Phelps opened up on the struggles he faced with mental health during his career. He believes he can help other people who go through the same problems. Phelps continues with his espousal with the motive of letting people with struggles know that they are not alone.
