The entire world knows Michael Phelps as the most decorated Olympian ever. His accomplishments are simply unparalleled and perhaps his records will remain unbeaten for a long, long time. Furthermore, the swimming legend is an inspiration for millions of people around the world. However, for his five-year-old son Boomer, Michael Phelps is a DC superhero.

The Olympic superhero is one of the very few athletes in the world whose stardom is beyond the sport of swimming. People might forget swimming, for instance, but the name Michael Phelps will always be remembered. Such is his legacy and if growing up, Boomer wishes to be like his father, perhaps it’ll be the most challenging thing he would ever go through.

For Boomer, his father is Aquaman

23 Olympic golds, 39 world records, greatest swimmer ever. The five-year-old Boomer calling his father Aquaman only makes sense. When asked about does little Boomer understands how great his father is? Michael said, “He calls me Aquaman. But I don’t think he fully gets it yet. He always says he’s like, can you beat that person? And I say, Look back in the day, yes. Not anymore, though.”

Talking about how the kids are with water, he further added, “They all absolutely love it. Boomer swims butterfly and freestyle. Beckett goes underwater, and he is like our little dolphin.”

Looks like there certainly are more gold medalists coming from the Phelps family in the future. Can’t wait to see them continue with the swimming journey where their father left.

How Michael Phelps broke the record of Mark Spitz

In the 2004 Athens Games, When Phelps won six gold medals, the media highlighted that he failed in breaking Mark Spitz’s record of seven Olympic golds. Since his comparison with the legend, Mark Spitz always followed him. He decided to get rid of it once and for all. It became the perfect motivation for Phelps and he wrote history at the next Olympics in Beijing by winning eight gold medals in a single edition.
