Michael Phelps accomplished numerous feats during his peak. But these feats also made him susceptible to challenges from people trying to gain instant fame. But the ‘Baltimore Bullet’ rarely accepted such challenges in the past.
Who challenged Michael Phelps during the show?
During the show, when one of the hosts challenged the 28-time Olympic medalist to a showdown, Phelps readily accepted. Kevin Hart showed a clip of him performing the butterfly stroke in the ocean.
When Phelps questioned the comedian if he was using fins, Hart challenged him to a match. However, the comedian knew he did not stand a chance against the Flying Fish in the usual format of events. So he laid out a few conditions for the match.

Hart said, “I will challenge you on prime TV. But you, it has to be a, I’m only swimming a quarter of the pool. Okay, so I was swimming a quarter of a pool. You gotta do two full laps, I got one quarter that I gotta do on butterfly. Okay, now you win, fine.”
“If you do freestyle then that’s different. I’ll win in freestyle if you give me one lap of freestyle. Freestyle is different, I thought we talking butterfly,” continued the comedian.
At this moment, Snoop Dogg chipped in, saying, “You know he raced the shark too.”
To this, Kevin replied, “I don’t give a damn if he raced a shark or not. But you got to give me like, you got to let me start first for like four seconds and then dive in and go. I need to like be in a 24-second situation, being that you can swim.”
Phelps, who was attending the show from his home through remote conferencing, agreed to Hart’s demands. However, Snoop Dogg still had doubts regarding the comedian’s performance if such a match occurred.
