From 2004 to 2016, Phelps was at the top of the swimming world. With old records being crushed, new heights scaled, and as a result, a humongous amount of Medals to his name. And even after his retirement, his records stand tall. However, throughout all the hard work and success, one person has always been by his side, his wife, Nicole.

The couple has three sons together – Boomer, Beckett, and Maverick. And Phelps has often shared about the joy of having three sons.

Recently, the champion swimmer took to Instagram to post a series of photos of him with his first-born, Boomer. The caption read “Happy Bday @boomerphelps 6?!? How!!! It doesn’t make any sense how fast ⏱️ goes.” Phelps also wrote that he was beyond stoked to see what the next year brings.

Boomer, who is 6 now, was at the Rio Olympics where his father swam in his last race. He also happens to be the only one of Michael and Nicole’s children to have watched their father perform live (even though he might not remember it).

It is indeed heartwarming to see Phelps post photos of him and his son as they celebrate a special day in Boomer’s life.
