With Leg 2 of Swimming World Cup 2023 in Athens officially over, the swimming world is now on their toes to witness the last and final meet of the competition. The enthusiasts are waiting with utter eagerness to witness the extraordinary performances of the swimmers once again. Amongst all the athletes, the performance of Kaylee Mckeown is one of the most awaited. This Australian swimmer has proved her worth with her extraordinary performances in the 2023 World Cup. She nabbed the first position leaving behind her Australian rival Cate Campbell. This backstroke phenom has not left any doubt about her prowess after her consecutive top-notch performances. Now, after the end of meet 2 in Athens, she has secured the title of most decorated swimmer in the world cup. With her number of golds in the world cup she has surpassed Cate Campbell and every other swimmer to make her way to the top.


The Swimming Stats posted a picture of the result on their X account. Kaylee Mckeown is on the first place of the most decorated female swimmers of 2023 World Cup so far. The position for this category has been sorted by the number and type of medals attained by the swimmer. First the gold, then silver, then bronze numbers are considered. Mckeown has attained overall 9 medals at the 2023 World Cup, eight of them are gold and one is a bronze medal.

They captioned the post as “With just one meet to go, these are the most decorated female swimmers of the 2023 Swimming World Cup so far. Will someone surpass Kaylee McKeown? This is one of the toughest questions to answer, however, keeping McKeown’s performances in consideration and other athletes’ positions in sight, it seems a difficult task to surpass McKeown at the moment.

With Kaylee McKeown on the first position, she has left behind her Australian rival Cate Campbell in securing the title of the most decorated female swimmers of the 2023 World Cup. Campbell was not even near McKeown, she is in the seventh position with a total number of 6 medals. Among these, 2 of them are gold and 4 of them are silver. Apart from this, just behind McKeown is Sarah Sjostrom with the number of seven medals, among which 4 of them are gold, 2 of them are silver.

Following the second position is Chian’s Yufei Zhang with six medals secured for herself. On the fourth position is Siobhan Haughney six medals under her name among which 4 are gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze. Ruta Meilutyte and Katie Grimes attained the fifth and the sixth position respectively. They attained 3 and 7 medals respectively. A total of ten swimmers were on the list and now the swimming enthusiasts are ready to get glued to their screens with the upcoming final leg in Budapest.
