Born in Baltimore, Maryland in 1985, 23-time Olympic gold medalist Michael Phelps has long been considered a local celebrity. Often referred to as “The Baltimore Bullet” throughout his swimming career, has ties to his birthplace outside of the water.

His choice to deliver the Game Ball for the AFC Championship Game earlier this year highlighted his longstanding links to Baltimore, and he just made headlines once more. Derrick Henry aka “King Henry,” the newest player on the Baltimore Ravens, has Phelps’ support as they prepare for a Super Bowl run.

He tied for second place in the NFL with 1,538 running yards and earlier for tying 13 touchdowns in 2022. Unquestionably, Henry is a favorite among Baltimore sports fans, and who more thrilled to welcome him than Michael Phelps himself who re-shared an ESPN Instagram post on his story of the news with the caption, “Welcome to Baltimore @ravens.”
