Jumping from lane 4 and lane 5, Qin and Arno, respectively, gave the spectators a performance worth watching. According to World Aquatics, it was an extremely close call between the two as the Chinese swimmer attained the top position with a time of 59.52 and the Netherlands’ swimmer in the second position touched the finish line in a time of 59.74.
In this throat-cutting competition, Peaty was nowhere to be seen in the top list, as he attained the sixth position with a time of 1:00.31. This situation in the 100m Breaststroke is a subtle hint for Peaty to buckle up as a new rivalry can be formed with Kamminga after facing a tough competition against Haiyang in Berlin.
