In the 50-meter backstroke, Michael Andrew, who looks forward to becoming the new Michael Phelps, also secured his gold after surpassing his Australian rival.

Interestingly, following this event on day three of the event, water wizard Michael Andrew continues to give heated competition in the 50m events. After yet again tying with the arch-rival in the 50-meter Butterfly event, the 24-year-old athlete etched his name in the history of swimming.

According to the live coverage provided by the World Aquatics on Youtube, Michael Andrew has once again tied with Dylan Carter, representing Trinidad, in the 50-meter butterfly event. Both athletes secured the second position by clocking 23.17 while gaining 887 points. At the same time, the gold was secured by Australian swimmer Ben Armbruster, who finished the race in 23.08.

Interestingly, this tie comes only months after the athletes shared the first position at the TYR Pro Series in Fort Lauderdale. In the 50-meter fly, both athletes secured gold by touching the wall in 23.33 seconds. The 23-year-old Shaine Casas secured the third position by finishing the race in 23.48. With this tie, Dylan told the media, “I knew Dylan was going to be quick. I think both of us are capable of going under 23 pretty easily.

The athlete secured this historic tie after clinching a gold on day two. The 24-year-old athlete surpassed his Australian rival in the 50-meter backstroke event.
