Another infant suffers a water tragedy despite Baltimore Bullet’s tenacious attempts to encourage safe swimming. While millions of people agree that Michael Phelps is a beast in the pool, he agrees with the hazards of the water. The CDC reports that drowning is the leading cause of mortality for kids between the ages of 1-4. Being familiar with the disastrous potential of water Phelps actively advocates safe swimming practices for minors. However, several endeavors and initiatives fall short due to grave negligence, which causes over 4,000 drownings each year.

Taking note of such tragedies Phelps takes charge by sharing “alarming” stats and instructing children on safety practices. Phelps sets a good example for his children and actively involves himself in their water safety training. To get them accustomed to the sensation he used to detest, he also frequently “dunked” them in the water. Phelps believes that giving children confidence in the water is the most important part of their first swimming session and advocates the same through various initiatives.
