Kate Douglass’ electrifying performance not only earned her medals but also showcased her as an unparalleled troupe in the pool. The event took place in Doha, where she blazed through the water toward a silver medal.

Douglass’ lightning speed made her seize 50 meters in the freestyle section and a record-breaking time of 23.91 seconds in the race. Douglass took the limelight as she also clinched gold in the 200-meter individual medley, not once but twice. Her historic achievement led her towards an elite club, as she is the second U.S. woman to claim individual medals in three different strokes at the single World Championship, after Tracy Caulkins.
