In addition to dominating the swimming world, over the years Michael Phelps has cultivated a deep interest in other sports. The Swimming legend has developed a strong passion for the sport of Golf. And after his retirement, the athlete has also added some minor Golf league achievements to his hall of fame.

However, along with Golf, the Olympic Legends’ interest in NASCAR has been revealed recently. Aside from showing his admiration for NASCAR legend Dale Earnhardt Jr., Phelps recently shared a picture of NASCAR supporting the US in the Olympics.

Michael Phelps shares a never-seen-before picture with fans

Paris 2024 is only one year away, and many sports have celebrated the upcoming big event. On July 26, Nascar also posted a throwback collage photo of supporting the Olympics with the caption “Nearing the finish line.” In the collage, a never-seen-before picture of Michael Phelps was also included. And today Michael Phelps also shared the post by NASCAR on his Instagram story, captioned “What a blast from the past.”

In the picture, NASCAR, while celebrating the upcoming Paris Olympics 2024, posted a collage of the sport?s own Olympic memories. The collage contained a few pictures of the infamous paint schemes of race cars, including the Kasey Kahne race car in support of Team USA in the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics. And a specially painted car with Michael Phelps’ face on it. Phelps was also seen posing behind the specially customized car.

In the picture, seven-time world champion Dale Earnhardt Jr. carrying the Olympic flame in 2001 was included as well. The 48-year-old athlete, in support of the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, was running through the streets of Charlotte. In 2016, the motor racing legend was also appreciated by one of the most decorated Olympic legends, Michael Phelps, after his 7th title championship win.

In 2016, the swimming legend shared a few words for the racing Driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. on his seventh championship win. The legend in his monologue expressed what the athlete?s achievement means to the world and Dale himself, as he stated, “This isn?t just another night for our seven-time champion. He set records and now stands alongside two legends. But for him, it?s more than that. It?s personal glory and the reward for a lifetime of hard work. And for the rest of us, it?s the knowledge that we just watched the greatest driver who ever lived.”

In 2016, Earrhardt officially joined the seven-title club, which already included the GOAT of F1 Lewis Hamilton, and motor racing legend Richard Petty. And on that night, Phelps truly exhibited the pinnacle of sportsmanship by appreciating the NASCAR racer for his effort. Hopefully, NASCAR shares more glimpses of the legend on the tracks in the future.
