As the 2nd leg of the 2023 swimming world cup commenced in Greece, Adam Peaty could not secure a win. In the 100-meter breaststroke, Nic Fink clinched the silver in 59.28, while world record holder Qin Haiyang maintained his winning streak by standing atop the podium after finishing the race in 58.44. The third position was secured by Arno Kamminga in 59.40. Interestingly, at the same time, Peaty, who holds expertise in the event, had to settle for the sixth position after finishing the race in 59.98.

This loss came for the British swimmer after the athlete qualified for the event by ranking sixth in 1:0.39. On the other hand, Qin Haiyang and Arno Kamminga won the heats by securing the first and second positions in 59:52 and 59.74, respectively. The soaring star Qin Haiyang managed to win the event after defeating Adam Peaty in Germany. The athlete even secured a record after defeating the athlete in the event.

However, things took a different turn as the 24-year-old swimmer surpassed him and Nic Fink in the breaststroke event. Amid this win, Haiyang also managed to set the world’s second-fastest time in history.
