Slow but steady toward the Olympic goal

The Australian swimming prodigy Ariarne Titmus is back in the pool after a span of 10 weeks. She went through an emergency surgery to eliminate benign tumors from one ovary. After this major operation, she came back just to witness one of the toughest decisions made by her coach. The SwimmingWorld breaking the news on their X account wrote, “Ariarne Titmus Returns for Queensland States but Coach Dean Boxall rules out World Aquatics Championships in Doha”. According to the coach, this is just to ensure Titmus returns to the Olympic stage with her full health. So they decided to take it easy.

Justifying the decision, Boxall was quoted as saying by the Swimming World, “She needs to get back into work. She needs to find her groove ? she knows it?s the Olympic year for her next year ? she needs to lay down that platform and keep building forward.”?Keeping this in mind, he has a fantastic plan for the reigning Olympic champion in the women’s 200m and 400m freestyle to come back to shape.

Ariarne Titmus will be displaying her staunch skills at the Queensland Championship to be held on the 9th of December 2023. The Australian swimmer is scheduled to take part in the 100, 200, 400, 8000, and 1500m freestyles. This competition will be held for seven days and will be held at the Brisbane Aquatic Center and will conclude on the 15th of December 2023.

Boxall reflects on the decision saying, “So Arnie will just roll the arms over at Queensland States ? and I won?t be expecting anything. It?s a matter of getting the juices going again.”

However, Boxall has all praise and a lot of belief in Arnie. With Paris just eight months away, Boxall said Titmus has evolved a lot after Tokyo. And she is ready to take on any big names in swimming. It remains to be seen whether Ariarne gets her juice back from the state meet to return to do justice to her name.
